Notes on Spelling
- Spelling Tests are every THURSDAY!
- New Words will be given every FRIDAY!
- Challenge words are a REQUIREMENT to write, as they are usually domain words from our related units.
- For example: If we are learning about mass and volume, we will have the challenge words "Weigh" and "kilogram."

- My spelling assignments are not the same as you will see in other classrooms. While some classrooms focus on using technology and typing for spelling, I utilize a more "old fashioned" method with pencil and paper. I find this to be a bit more rigorous and flexible, and it simply works best for my teaching style (nothing wrong with the technology aspect!).
- All of third grade uses Sitton Spelling. This may differ slightly from what you are used to, but it is a great system that incorporates grammar and things like "homophones" to understand spelling patterns and variations.
- Students will be using their language notebook to record all spelling work.
- In addition to other assignments, below is an example of some of the weekly activities students will complete for their spelling lists!
